Heritage Technical Codes

Heritage Technical Codes.

Published by the Heritage Council of Victoria.

The Codes, Lime mortars for the repair of masonry and Repointing with lime mortars, are designed to overcome the problem of Australian Standards not accepting the use of lime mortars, so that alternative Performance Solutions are required to satisfy the Building Code of Australia.

The Codes are written like standards & so can be used as consent tools for planning applications.

Heritage Case Studies

Heritage Case Studies

Tasmania faces a critical shortage of specialist skills to maintain and preserve its built heritage sites. To address this shortage, Keystone Tasmania has produced a series of case studies that

showcase heritage trade skills.  These are very practical resources, and they also serve as an inspiration for further training.

Each case study comprises a video and a fact sheet, and these can be download from

Keystone Tasmania’s website.

Heritage Skills Report (2018)

A copy of Keystone Tasmania’s Heritage Construction Skills – Update Report can also be downloaded from the website. This 2018 report presents the key changes and trends that have emerged since 2012 that can impact the demand and supply or heritage construction skills in Tasmania.
