A three-day workshop run Dr Alonso Ayala Aleman (IHS Erasmus University Rotterdam) Senior expert in Housing and Human Settlement Planning


The case study of the East Perth Power Station


Main objective of the workshop.                                                                              


Understand adaptive reuse of heritage buildings from a people’s centre approach (bottom-up co-creation and decision-making) Provided in relation to adaptive reuse, participatory planning, strategic action planning, design thinking & tactical urbanism approach


  • Understanding community neighbourhood needs


  • Define a strategy to address community needs


  • Design the road map of the strategy


  • Access to the latest technology digital scans & images


DAY ONE

Understanding community/neighborhood need through empathy and human centered explorative interview mapping and observations


DAY TWO

Ideas and strategies developed through needs pyramid of actions & activities, feasibility, and effectiveness strategy testing


DAY THREE

Road mapping and sustainability by exploring critical tasks & developing criteria
