Collie Shire Throssell Street Redevelopment
The Shire of Collie has implemented a long term and integrated plan to improve the arrival into Collie, premised on the upgrade of heritage buildings, linking other walk/MTB trails to a heritage trail and digital app, mural trail depicting cultural and historic elements of Collie's past, and other general public ream improvements and visitors experiences. This wholistic approach will allow new features to be highlighted and added in the form of heritage refurbishment projects for a new Coalfields museum.

The Shire has also worked with local clubs and Heritage Skills Australia to provide a practical trial project site (with the assistance of the Collie Rail Heritage Group) to address the lack of accredited heritage skills training and an aging skilled population workforce. The model
developed by the Association, will help to bridge the current education gap for a sustainable future and long-term protection of heritage places.
