Ministerial media release today, by Hon Mark McGowan BA LLB MLA.

The Heritage Skills Association WA Pilot Project has received funding to undertake the heritage restoration of the Goods Shed in Collie, as a heritage skills training project. The project gives HSAWA, the opportunity to trial the proposed heritage skills training model with key stakeholders, the first in WA. By offering, at a local level training on a inter-generational project based heritage restoration, that is part of

a current accredited training program certification. This is in line with HSAWA's aim, of transferring artisan skills at local level, to young and those wanting to upskilling in the heritage, while working in partnerships on real projects.

This is a huge step forward in addressing the need for accredited heritage skills training in WA.
